We provide our customers with necessary insight and data which is needed to make critical market decisions as investment, production planning and trading. SKM MP is covering all the major issues and trends within the power market, from wind forecast for next hour to expected hydrogen production is 2050. Our customers are the main players in the power market and include utilities, traders, TSO’s, investments fonds and public energy agencies. Our tools are knowledge, curiosity, strong modelling and a huge database. We are expanding our team and are looking for an energy economist, where the successful candidate will be working with some of the most interesting industrial and political themes of our time.
Some of the tasks are:
- Preparation of short- and long-term fundamental power market analysis and forecasts
- Closely follow and have an overview of all changing market conditions
- Confidently present and communicate insights relating to electricity markets to a wider range of customers written and verbal
- Direct customer support in daily operations
- Work with the team to develop our service for new target areas
We are looking for candidates with:
University degree, in power industry, finance or similar specialization. Strong analytical skills and ability to handle complex analysis. Ability to work both in teams and independently
It is preferable with:
- Understanding of the European or Nordic power sector
- Knowledge of Python or Matlab programming language
- Experience with operation of the long-term models e.g. EMPS, Plexus, BID3
- Good communication and presentation skills in English and Norwegian language
